With over 17 years of experience in oral health, Dominique is passionate about making dental care accessible to all. As a licensed RDHAP, she brings quality care directly to those who can’t easily visit a traditional dental office—because everyone deserves a healthy, confident smile.

What Is a RDHAP?

A Registered Dental Hygienist in Alternative Practice (RDHAP) is a dental hygienist in California who, after receiving extra training and licensure, can practice independently—without direct dentist supervision—in non-traditional settings such as homes, nursing facilities, schools, hospitals, and community centers

Why RDHAP Matters

 

  • Expanding access: RDHAPs reach underserved and homebound patients—elderly, disabled, low-income, or rural—who often cannot visit a dental office 

  • Preventive care focus: They perform cleanings, fluoride/ sealant applications, periodontal therapies (like scaling and root planing), and oral health education.

  • Independent practice: RDHAPs can own mobile or brick-and-mortar practices in designated underserved areas and bill insurance, including Medi‑Cal, directly.

  • Community impact: They’re instrumental in public health outreach, education, and advocacy to bridge oral health gaps
